Peter (lecturer at Thomas More): “Our students immediately see the impact of their work”

KPD Tendering has been used within the programme for years and not by chance.
“We use KPD Tendering because it is a very efficient and user-friendly tool. But just as importantly for us, it is transparent for students.”

That transparency makes all the difference:
“Our students learn from it every day and immediately see: what am I doing and what result does it produce? That insight is extremely important to us.”

Close to the field, from classroom to construction site

KPD Tendering is deeply embedded in the programme.
“We notice that KPD Tendering is widely used in the construction sector. It is one of the most advanced tools on the market, and that’s exactly why we want to pass on that knowledge to our students.”

That choice pays off. When students start internships or work on-site, they immediately recognize the software.
“They often receive cost estimations that were actually created in KPD. This allows our programme to stay very closely aligned with the professional field.”

Added value for estimators and site managers

In their third year, students complete a 17-week internship at medium to large construction companies. There, they come into contact with KPD Tendering again, both as estimators and site managers.

“A site manager must be able to read and understand a calculation. That’s why it’s a huge advantage that our students already know the software, can extract the right data from it, and immediately apply it to their project.”

Structure for complex calculations

Within the programme, students work on complex calculations.
“And that’s exactly where KPD Tendering makes the difference,” Peter explains.
“The software offers a logical and practical structure that students use daily, and which is perfectly applicable on construction sites later on.”

The result? Students who don’t just learn how to calculate, but also how to think in line with today’s industry standards.

More than just a calculation tool

For Thomas More, KPD Tendering goes beyond simple cost estimation.
“For us, it’s much more than a traditional calculation program. From the same tool, we can also generate schedules, create progress reports, and prepare additional measurement sheets.”

This versatility allows the programme to keep evolving alongside the needs of the construction sector.

A smooth collaboration with KPD

The collaboration itself also runs very smoothly.
“The communication between KPD and our programme is very efficient. Overall, our experience has been extremely positive.”

In short, thanks to KPD Tendering, Thomas More succeeds in not only providing theoretical education, but also delivering students who are fully prepared for a rapidly evolving and increasingly complex construction industry.
